One intriguing report, by the Ministry of Defence, involved an object seen over Cambridge Airport: "At 2:50 p.m. on 16 October 1977, an object was sighted coming from the south-west. It was thought at first to be an aircraft but a rarad control officer5, who was on the runway at the time, thought that the object was too fatst and was not on the usual approach lan. The object passed overhead and then returned, turned a half-circle, started to rotate ant then left at high speed. It was estimated at a height of 15,000 ft".
